These are the people and organisations who are going to help, and who have helped Sustainable Expeditions succeed...

Update - I've just decided I'm not a fan of corporate sponsorship, so from now on I'll try and source sponsorship from non-corporate bodies if at all.

"150 miles up the Western Isles" thanks...

John Muir Trust

Thanks to Katie and Chris to told me about the Bill Wallace Grant/Award on the day of the deadline!! I managed to just get an application form in and am proud to have been awarded financial help to purchase a solar panel for charging safety equipment, and a digital camera for documenting the trip.

Clearwater Paddling (CWP)

Thank you to Chris and Katie who run Clearwater Paddling. Chris has been patient and tolerant in lending me equipment over the years and gave me the job initially as a guide, which is no doubt a main contributing factor to the reason that I am still kayaking. Learning to sea kayak in the Outer Hebrides has been brilliant, and it is a beautiful and challenging location for the activity. For this expedition, CWP has lent me:

 - 3-pint Kelly Kettle

 - Spare paddle

 - Handheld pump

 - Contact tow line (which ties me to the boat in case I come out)

 - Tow line (for swimming in with boat in emergencies)

 - Paddle float (with a hole in it which is now fixed - thanks Chris!)

 - Dry bags

 - Tarp for sleeping under

 - Set of pogees to stop wind chill on hands

Sarah McLean - Isle of Barra Local Food producer and supplier

Thank you to Sarah who has generously donated: fresh eggs; dried pork; a joint of pork and honey. Sarah has also offered invaluable advice about what I can eat off the land, and has lent books about eating off the land, which tonight (night before setting off), I'll be reading! Sarah also recommended a website (www.hilocalfood.net) which has a list of local food suppliers in the Highlands and Islands.

Circumnavigation of Skye

Trip not yet planned, hence no sponsors contacted.
